Swirl down the rocks and stones

crashing through infinite direction.

One would think you would return in

circular repetition if not for the downward slope.

A rushing journey toward crossroads

of four distinct angles.

You cannot choose.

For that is not the river’s way.

A stream of chance will whisk you to new places.

But one must be light as a feather, a leaf’s careless weight

to allow the adventure forward no matter the destination.

Let go. Lie back and float!

And see where descending waters take you.
