Waterfall Withdrawals

Dry stones carve out a river’s path,

but no water rushes here.

I look to the mountain’s peak,

for abundant milk drizzles

But it is not raining today,

and I am in withdrawals.

Knowing these golden green mosses once succulent,

this silent path filled with waterfall symphonies.

All moisture congregated to create life,

all life submitted to thunderous skies and lightning flashes.

But those are the Sounds of a distant memory,

and this is a new path.

A loop of sunshine and faint green steps,

where birds cry out for rain dances

and golden sunsets laugh at their pleas.
