Muddy As
Boldness may cover a proud heart
as it tramps into thick obstacles
One’s naiveté their undoing.
But in innocence we plod on
courage our thin lined support
for rappelling down slippery inclinations.
Vision obstructed no matter the direction is not a sign to stop.
For amidst the muck are silver arrows
placed in obscurity to discover.
And they will guide you to bubbling creeks and refreshing waters
blocked only by stormy slips
where you have not cleared out resentment’s rubble.
Dig your hands into those unknown murky waters
and pull out the rocks that have sliced you.
The residue may be muddy as
but a clear heart will be your source
to return new water to those you love.
